Firewatch tower

A low-poly fire lookout tower on a small square of forest — one scene, rendered as a day-and-night study. The model is inspired by the wooden lookout towers of American national parks (and by the game Firewatch), rebuilt from simple planes and beams: the cabin, the zig-zag staircase, the railings and a handful of faceted pines.

The same scene is shown in three moods — a clean daylight render, a clay version that exposes the raw geometry, and a night variant where the only light comes from the cabin windows. A final low-angle shot places the tower against a starry sky, the way you would actually see it from the trail.

Daylight — the full diorama with the tower, faceted pines and low-poly terrain.
Clay render — materials stripped away to show the bare geometry of the scene.
Nightfall — the scene lit only by the warm glow of the cabin windows.
From the trail — low-angle view of the lookout against the night sky.
